The present invention relates to a conjugate comprising a nanoporous crystalline three-dimensional framework material bearing a permament negative framework charge and having an average pore size ranging from 1 nm to 2 nm, selected from a zeolite, an organosilica, a metal organic framework (MOF) and a covalent organic framework (COF) material, containing within its pores an electrophilic UV-visible or fluoresecent analyte-responsive reporter dye, a method for producing the same, and uses thereof.
