From Warburg to Agamben, including Debord and Baudrillard, many intellectuals have alerted their contemporaries to the risks of technology : it would separate us from each other and put us at a distance from the world. However, it is clear that in the 21st century, this separation is taking a more dramatic turn. We suggest that Arno Bertina’s novel Anima Motrix (2006) provides a better understanding of the dangers of the proliferation of devices that structure our daily lives. Via the dark character of Ljube Boskovski, the novel invites us to examine the inhuman potential of our time.

Abstract
From Warburg to Agamben, including Debord and Baudrillard, many intellectuals have alerted their contemporaries to the risks of technology : it would separate us from each other and put us at a distance from the world. However, it is clear that in the 21st century, this separation is taking a more dramatic turn. We suggest that Arno Bertina’s novel Anima Motrix (2006) provides a better understanding of the dangers of the proliferation of devices that structure our daily lives. Via the dark character of Ljube Boskovski, the novel invites us to examine the inhuman potential of our time.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
