Corpora e testi : Per un riesame della tradizione manoscritta del De bono mortis (secoli VIII-XII)

This article deals with the manuscript tradition of Ambrose’s De bono mortis. On the one hand, a list of the manuscripts that we know of so far, dating from the 8th to the 12th century, is provided. On the other hand, some remarks on various issues which are of interest in view of a new recensio and collatio of the manuscripts are presented: the two main corpora in which the De bono mortis is often included, and their origin and circulation up to the 12th century; the relationship between the contents of the manuscripts and their being assignable to different branches of the stemma codicum; the structure of the stemma itself.

Questo contributo nasce nell’ambito di un progetto mirante a una nuova edizione critica del De bono mortis (= bon. mort.), che faccia seguito all’opera di Karl Schenkl (1897) e alla tesi (inedita) di Lama El Horr (2006)1 . Nella prima parte presento un elenco aggiornato dei manoscritti reperiti per i secoli VIII-XII2 . Nella seconda parte formulo qualche riflessione a partire dai dati presentati, in vista della collazione dei testimoni.
