Foreword to the proceedings of the 43rd National Congress of the Italian Society of Legal and Insurance Medicine (SIMLA), Verona, 2018

The Congress, SIMLA found an opportunity to verify its role of coordination, interaction with public and private institutions, stimulus to research and gathering of different competences. The results, including attendance from all Italy and from abroad, was highly gratifying in both terms of quality and numbers. For these reasons, special thanks must be given to all participants and, above all, to the colleagues of the University of Verona, who, with great passion and extraordinary commitment, succeeded in realizing such a scientifically excellent event in a warm and elegant context. The proceedings of the SIMLA Verona Conference will contribute to the memory of a milestone for the Italian forensic medicine.
