Abstract

In the global economy, the rethinking of the labour market is made inevitable by a sharp acceleration of productivity, which seems to sacrifice the potential and the employability of people, accentuating the phenomena of social inequality. A conceptual paper is developed to discuss complex issues. The article begins with the examination of big phenomena so strictly and dangerously interrelated that a first analysis could lead to the conclusion that resolving inequality in a world increasingly globalized and technologized is a fundamental impossibility. The discussion strives to dismantle these common beliefs or concerns by using provocative and critical analysis to deny the danger of a vicious circle. The research explores the connections between multilevel policies and sustainability to achieve relevant societal goal, and it highlights the need for interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, which are salient tools to trigger a virtuous circle where equality, human rights, democracy, and employment can coexist, complementing each other.
