A conceptual framework for private outpatient clinics is here represented, exploring well-consolidated theories in Business Administration academia: Organizational identity as opposed to strategic identity, and the consequent strategic «posture» of an organization in a certain environment. The case study, CDI-Centro Diagnostico Italiano, the Italian leader in private outpatient clinics market, is evaluated. It is concluded that, although for a single observation only, a strong and durable strategic posture relies upon a clear strategic identity, that fosters and builds up time after time a coherent organizational identity reflecting members' inner values and principles.
