The physics of nuclear rotations is reviewed. In order to illustrate the universality of the subject, parallels with other fields in physics are drawn, with special emphasis on concepts such as spontaneous symmetry breaking, phase transitions, quantal fluctuations and chaotic behaviour, making use of a language common to studies of quantum systems with many degrees of freedom.

Abstract
The physics of nuclear rotations is reviewed. In order to illustrate the universality of the subject, parallels with other fields in physics are drawn, with special emphasis on concepts such as spontaneous symmetry breaking, phase transitions, quantal fluctuations and chaotic behaviour, making use of a language common to studies of quantum systems with many degrees of freedom.File in questo prodotto:
