This study intends to study how the controversy concerning the choice of Jean-François Lisée - former leader of the Parti Québécois - to conduct a debate in English before the 2018 elections, is deployed on social media. More specifically, we will focus on the functioning and challenges of the polemical discourse, focusing in particular on the contribution of new technologies. For this purpose, we will propose a comparative study between three typologies of corpora selected from social networks (comments to online articles, comments posted on Facebook and Twitter). Our aim is to verify whether the discursive strategies implemented in the technodiscours allow the representations inscribed in the existing socio-identity context to evolve.

Abstract
This study intends to study how the controversy concerning the choice of Jean-François Lisée - former leader of the Parti Québécois - to conduct a debate in English before the 2018 elections, is deployed on social media. More specifically, we will focus on the functioning and challenges of the polemical discourse, focusing in particular on the contribution of new technologies. For this purpose, we will propose a comparative study between three typologies of corpora selected from social networks (comments to online articles, comments posted on Facebook and Twitter). Our aim is to verify whether the discursive strategies implemented in the technodiscours allow the representations inscribed in the existing socio-identity context to evolve.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
