The article proposes a comparison between the French situation in election period and the Italian one, starting from the perception of the media. The authors analyze the speeches for French electors, in order to identify the diverse accessibility between medium and elector; firstly they check each medium accessibility, in order to verify the existence of a collective subject which assembles all the media, and detect its specific nature. This subject is studied through the analysis of the political value as it emerges from the reception speech. The conclusion is that the French electorship identifies the political value as social value, opposing it to the value related to the medium. As a result, it comes out that the French perception is completely different from the Italian one, in which the medium is helper and not opposer towards the political subject, and in fact the media values are interwoven with the political value.
