The paper is a study of the influence of totalitarian ideology on the language that results in creating a so-called totalitarian language. The research is based on the data collected within the transition period from totalitarianism to post-totalitarianism in Russia and the former Soviet space as well as on the dictionaries both of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods.
