In the eighties the large employment of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures has made the treatment of pancreatic pseudocysts easier and codified. The Authors present their own experience in 34 patients, divided into three groups on the basis of the etiology of the pseudocysts. Altogether 33 surgical procedures have been performed, with a morbidity rate of twenty-four per cent, while the mortality rate was six per cent and relapses were three per cent; in three cases endoscopic procedures were realized and they were not loaded with complications and relapses. Finally the Authors express some considerations about the most advisable therapeutic management of each of the three groups of patients.

Abstract
In the eighties the large employment of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures has made the treatment of pancreatic pseudocysts easier and codified. The Authors present their own experience in 34 patients, divided into three groups on the basis of the etiology of the pseudocysts. Altogether 33 surgical procedures have been performed, with a morbidity rate of twenty-four per cent, while the mortality rate was six per cent and relapses were three per cent; in three cases endoscopic procedures were realized and they were not loaded with complications and relapses. Finally the Authors express some considerations about the most advisable therapeutic management of each of the three groups of patients.Pubblicazioni consigliate
