This paper illustrates the function held by analysis of dictiones for the orthographic and orthoepic praxis concerning lectio plana of Scriptural and liturgical textual heritage, as it has been shown by the so called artes lectoriae, since XI century onwards. Lectores, cantores, and scribae assigned these kinds of orthopraxis, in order to establish and to restore linguistic proprietas to the texts destined to be read aloud. For this purpose, these orthopraxis need the competences involved at all linguistic levels - morphology, syntax, semantics - in order to get correctio in written and in oral performances. Under these circumstances, also derivatio and compositio, that are a part of the notional heritage of Latin grammar that conceived them in different terms if compared with those of modern word formation, become topics of a new interest. The artes lectoriae, in fact, not only consider derivatio and compositio as basic dimensions of the linguistic structure, but they turn them into hermeneutic tools for analysis of the dictiones, whose correctio is assured either in their relationships within the lexicon, or in the morphologic, syntactic, semantic values and in the pragmatic function they exhibit in a context. Furthermore, the interest shown by artes lectoriae in derivatio and compositio is dependent of that one destined by Medieval thought to other linguistic dimensions (etymologia, translatio, etc.), and it represents an important step, if compared to the Ancient grammatical tradition, towards the modern and scientific idea of Wortbildung.
Il contributo si occupa delle 'artes lectoriae' medievali e delle pratiche di analisi dellle parole, concepita come strumento metalinguistico a sostegno della scrittura e della lettura corretta del latino.

Abstract
Furthermore, the interest shown by artes lectoriae in derivatio and compositio is dependent of that one destined by Medieval thought to other linguistic dimensions (etymologia, translatio, etc.), and it represents an important step, if compared to the Ancient grammatical tradition, towards the modern and scientific idea of Wortbildung.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
