The development of an electronic music plotting system (EMPS) is reported that permits the composer to obtain listening scores from electronic music 'signals'. Included in the score are: a graph of the melodic and harmonic movement, and another one of the amplitudes and spectral densities of the analyzed signals. The display of both music-graphs on a video terminal to allow interactive testing, and their printing on a computer-controlled plotter are emphasized. The principal function phases of EMPS are presented, and its two independent programs are revised. Graphs realized with MPS are given and an appreciation of EMPS is briefly described.

Abstract
The development of an electronic music plotting system (EMPS) is reported that permits the composer to obtain listening scores from electronic music 'signals'. Included in the score are: a graph of the melodic and harmonic movement, and another one of the amplitudes and spectral densities of the analyzed signals. The display of both music-graphs on a video terminal to allow interactive testing, and their printing on a computer-controlled plotter are emphasized. The principal function phases of EMPS are presented, and its two independent programs are revised. Graphs realized with MPS are given and an appreciation of EMPS is briefly described.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
