Objectives: The aim of this work is to evaluate if patients of different sex and ages learn oral preventive methods in different ways. Materials and methods: One-hundred and twenty patients in preventodontic iter of different sex and age were included in the study. Results: Remarkable results were obtained regarding both the effective reduction of bacterial oral flora and patient's compliance and learning, especially in the group of patients older than 10 years. Conclusions: Patient instruction and motivation allow to obtain optimal results in particular in patients aged more than 10 years.
Obiettivi Lo scopo di questo lavoro consiste nel valutare se esista una differenza nell’apprendimento delle tecniche preventodontiche tra pazienti appartenenti a diverse fasce di età o di differente sesso. Materiali e metodi Sono stati considerati 120 pazienti che hanno intrapreso l’iter preventodontico, suddivisi in fasce di età e in base al sesso. Risultati Sono stati ottenuti risultati più che soddisfacenti, eccellenti per i pazienti sopra i 10 anni di età, sia per quanto riguarda il grado di collaborazione e di apprendimento sia per l’effettiva diminuzione della flora batterica orale. Conclusioni È possibile istruire all’igiene orale con ottimi risultati i piccoli pazienti, in particolare quelli di età superiore a 10 anni, motivandoli e istruendoli all’utilizzo di adeguate tecniche e metodiche.
