The paper analyses the ways in which digitalization of public administration can lead to more data-driven governance in smart-cities. After a brief overview of the multiple meanings of “smart-cities”, the notion of territorial governance is briefly presented. The paper then goes on to discuss the extent to which digital tools can be applied to direct the actions and decisions of public authorities towards more informed and measurable results, and thus maximize not only the final output of public entities, but also their ability to adapt and amend decisions in a timely manner thanks to artificial intelligence.

Abstract
The paper analyses the ways in which digitalization of public administration can lead to more data-driven governance in smart-cities. After a brief overview of the multiple meanings of “smart-cities”, the notion of territorial governance is briefly presented. The paper then goes on to discuss the extent to which digital tools can be applied to direct the actions and decisions of public authorities towards more informed and measurable results, and thus maximize not only the final output of public entities, but also their ability to adapt and amend decisions in a timely manner thanks to artificial intelligence.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
