Background. Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) from hearing aid materials is not a frequent event but still remains a clinical problem not enough studied. Objectives. Review of the literature Results and Conclusions. We reviewing the literature, acrylates represent the haptens considered as the major responsible for this dermatitis that may also occur after a prolonged use of these devices. Hearing aid users with ACD should undergo specific patch test for hearing aid materials that might cause ACD even if they could find some practical solution that partially solved the problem.
