The Culture financing system is characterised, in most cases, by the prevalence of costs over incomes. Financing culture leads to several indirect outcomes (tourism, occupation, new professionality, cultural alphabetisation, and so on). In order to meet the financial requirement, the Public Sector intervention is often necessary; in some cases, where the public financing is insufficient, new business models (such as crowdfunding) can rise up for supporting culture. Are (or will be) those models eligible to compensate or replace traditional finance for cultural production? In this contribution, we analyse the extension and the evolution of the financial issues in culture and their public or private covering.
