The exhibition “Henry Moore” at Terme di Diocleziano, Rome, (September 24 2015-january 10 2016) presents 75 works, including sculpture, drawings, gouaches and print, coming from Tate collection (64 works) and from Italian museums. The show, curated by Davide Colombo and Chris Stephen (curator at Tate, London), presents the whole activity of the artist, one of the most important sculptor of XX Century by his sculptural skill and invention, connecting abstract language with the study of human figure. His sculpture, monumental too, are well displayed in a dialogue with the monumental beauty of the Roman architecture and respectfully integrated into the museum’s archaeological display. The exhibition is organised in five themed sections: “The exploration of modernism”, “War and Peace”, “Mother and Child”, “Reclining Figure” and “Sculpture in public space”.

La mostra dedicata a Henry Moore presso le Terme di Diocleziano (24 settembre 2015-10 gennaio 2016) presenta 75 opere tra sculture, disegni, acquerelli e stampe, provenienti in gran parte dalle collezioni della Tate e da musei italiani. La rassegna, a cura di Davide Colombo e Chris Stephen (curatore della Tate), presenta l’intero percorso creativo dell’artista, considerato uno dei più importanti scultori del Novecento per l’abilità tecnica e l’inventiva con cui ha saputo coniugare l’astrattismo e la ricerca sulla figura umana. Le sue sculture, anche di dimensioni monumentali, entrano in dialogo con gli spazi scenografici delle Grandi Aule delle Terme di Diocleziano e con la tradizione classica rappresentata nel percorso espositivo del Museo Nazionale Romano. La mostra è articolata in 5 aree tematiche. “L’esplorazione del moderno”, “Guerra e Pace”, “Madre e figlio”, “Figura distesa” e “Scultura negli spazi pubblici”.
