A Biography'(1928) and behind Vita Sackville-West creation of her garden at Sissinghurst, since 1930, there is the attempt at recreating Knole, the ancestral country house of the Sackvilles. Knole, the great text encoded in the national heritage of England, is propagated into new texts, by Woolf's art of fiction and Sackville-West's art of gardening.
