The aim of this note is to examine the sources of nonlinearity arising in the kinetic theory of active particles. We show how nonlinearities enter the different terms of the theory, giving rise to possible developments toward the modeling of different types of complex systems, mainly living and social ones, where proliferative-destructive processes must be included. Finally, some research perspectives are discussed.

Abstract
The aim of this note is to examine the sources of nonlinearity arising in the kinetic theory of active particles. We show how nonlinearities enter the different terms of the theory, giving rise to possible developments toward the modeling of different types of complex systems, mainly living and social ones, where proliferative-destructive processes must be included. Finally, some research perspectives are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
