The mature postdefecating larva of Trachypus denticollis Spinola is described. Larval morphology permits the separation of Trachypus Klug from Philanthus F., the two genera forming the subtribe Philanthina. The presence, in Trachypus, of maxillae with a pigmented lateral area represents an autaponnorphy that allows recognition of the last larval stage of this genus.

Abstract
The mature postdefecating larva of Trachypus denticollis Spinola is described. Larval morphology permits the separation of Trachypus Klug from Philanthus F., the two genera forming the subtribe Philanthina. The presence, in Trachypus, of maxillae with a pigmented lateral area represents an autaponnorphy that allows recognition of the last larval stage of this genus.File in questo prodotto:
