Laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (TME) can be technically challenging especially in obese and patients with narrow pelvis. Transanal TME (TaTME) is a technique that combines abdominal and transanal endoscopic approach to overcome limitations and facilitate standard laparoscopic TME.
