Abstract
André Gide’s Les Cahiers d’André Walter and Les Faux-monnayeurs exploit the biblical tale of Jacob in an interesting manner. A comparative analysis evidences a close relationship between the way the two novels use the same image: Jacob’s struggle with the angel parallels the writer’s fight with his own imagery during the creative process and also unveils Mallarmé’s persistence in Gide’s poetics.File in questo prodotto:
