The Ossola Protected Areas Management Authority manages two natural parks in the upper Piedmont: the Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero Nature Park and the Alta Valle Antrona Nature Park. The two nature reserves, in addition to being of considerable importance for the issues related to biodiversity, have geological and geomorphological characteristics of international interest, linked to the formation of the Alpine chain and to high-altitude geomorphic processes. The Park Authority is active in the enhancement of the geological heritage with the participation in research and promotion projects that have enabled them to identify thematic itineraries, create dissemination guides and set up a teaching room in which to carry out educational activities on the topics of Earth Sciences. For the future, the Parks are promoting a cross-border project aimed at further enhancing the mineralogical heritage and the history of mining in the area between Monte Rosa and the Lakes region.

Abstract
For the future, the Parks are promoting a cross-border project aimed at further enhancing the mineralogical heritage and the history of mining in the area between Monte Rosa and the Lakes region.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
