Low field MRI has several limitations in spatial resolution compared to high field MRI. The first aim of the study is to assess the capability of the low field MRI (0,18T) to detect spontaneous and jatrogenic ostecartlagineous defects in the equine metacarpophalangeal joint specimens. The second aim of the study is to verify the hypothesis that the use of intraarticularly air (MRar) could permit to recognize these type of lesions even using a low field MRI. Results demonstrate that low field MRI doesn't allow to recognize cartilagneous lesions that don't involve the subchondral bone too (ex wearlines lesions). Use of air as a novel contrst medium agent, improved a lot tha capability of low field MRI in the detection of ostechondral defects even if limited to the cartilagineous layer.

Abstract
Use of air as a novel contrst medium agent, improved a lot tha capability of low field MRI in the detection of ostechondral defects even if limited to the cartilagineous layer.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
