Abstract
In his Octavas “on the effects of love”, an apparently eccentric poetic essay, Aldana develops the Ficinian motif of the “Terrestrial Venus” through a complex intertextual dialogue with classical and Italian authors. In this paper, we shall demonstrate the ambitious poetization of some ideas exhibited in the trattati d’amore, especially under Mario Equicola’s influence.File in questo prodotto:
