Introduction: Homicides of children and youths have always received a great deal of attention over recent years. In the area considered for the present study, a non-negligible percentage of homicides (4,2%) involved a minor as a victim. Materials and Methods: The data analysis presented in this paper was based on forensic reports available in the Internal File Record of the Forensic Medicine and Insurance Section of the University of Milan, to provide a detailed case-study of homicides of minors that took place in the territorial jurisdiction of the Milan and Monza Prosecutor’s Office between 1993 and 2017. Results: Quantitative and qualitative analysis where conducted, regarding age of victims, weapons used, places of recovery, authors of homicides, motives of the killing and types of relationship between perpetrators and victims. Conclusion: The study compare the present set of data with the ones provided in the international literature on this matter and to deepen the knowledge of the phenomenon.
