La nozione di guṇa e lo statuto della radice indoeuropea nel pensiero di Ferdinand de Saussure e Walter Belardi

In this paper I compare the positions held by Ferdinand de Saussure and Walter Belardi on the so called “guṇa theory”. While the two linguists overtly express radically different views on the concept of guṇa itself, the analysis on the one side shows that they do not share exactly the same idea of guṇa, on the other side it confirms that Belardi’s conception relies heavily on Saussure’s reflections about Indo-European morphology, being even more radical with respect to some points of detail, which were somehow problematic in Saussure’s theory.
