In this essay Joyce’s narrative and poetic production is seen in relation with his daughter’s mental illness and with Jung’s and Einstein’s coeval theorization, a biographical link being provided by Lucia Joyce’s therapy with Jung at the Burgholzli hospital. The essay is based on the new documental sources brought to the fore by the most recent studies on Lucia.
