The Dissolution of Philosophical Ethics. Croce and the Theory of Morality. Croce allows no space to a theory of morality, because to him every normative structure (norms or rules) remains outside the act of volition, so that it can have only an instrumental value. Therefore, on one hand, Croce rejects almost every historical attempt at building a philosophical ethics and, on the other, he argues in support of an individual meditation about moral issues. The Frammenti di etica should be considered as an example of this kind of moral reflection, the only acceptable one.

Abstract
The Dissolution of Philosophical Ethics. Croce and the Theory of Morality. Croce allows no space to a theory of morality, because to him every normative structure (norms or rules) remains outside the act of volition, so that it can have only an instrumental value. Therefore, on one hand, Croce rejects almost every historical attempt at building a philosophical ethics and, on the other, he argues in support of an individual meditation about moral issues. The Frammenti di etica should be considered as an example of this kind of moral reflection, the only acceptable one.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
