This essay tries to find the best way to explain a phenomenon deserving being dealt with by a psychiatrist rather than by a philosopher: the Holocaust denial. The author’s approach is pessimistic as it maintains that the rejection by the Holocaust deniers of ordinary rational account of historical facts makes it impossible any dialogue on an equal footing with them.
