The anterior cruciate ligament rupture determines a knee proprioceptive deficit which may cause the loss of motor coordination in the injured limb. In this study, the authors have verified before and after ACL reconstruction the functional capability of the injured limb, through an appropriate device. The main results underline a motor incoordination in all patients with a chronic lesion of ACL. However the significant improvement at 8 weeks after surgery suggests the knee proprioceptive recovery is possible also at a long distance from the lesion.

Abstract
The anterior cruciate ligament rupture determines a knee proprioceptive deficit which may cause the loss of motor coordination in the injured limb. In this study, the authors have verified before and after ACL reconstruction the functional capability of the injured limb, through an appropriate device. The main results underline a motor incoordination in all patients with a chronic lesion of ACL. However the significant improvement at 8 weeks after surgery suggests the knee proprioceptive recovery is possible also at a long distance from the lesion.Pubblicazioni consigliate
