Abstract

It seems that the Trigemino-cardiac reflex could only be predicted if the preexisting structural changes are better known. Such preoperative knowledgewould allowprophylaxis in selected cases. Further studies are needed and, in case of sudden death after trigeminal stimulation or diving reflex, accurate examination of the brainstem on serial sections is mandatory.
