Up to 80% of the lung offered from brain dead donors are rejected by the transplant programs primarlily due to poor organ function. Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) is a valuable tool for the reassessment of marginal lungs before transplantationand could increase the pool of organs available.
