In a study of 2418 cases of canine heart patients at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan, breed and sex seem to influence the owners assessment of the effect of many antihypertensive drugs (ss block, ace inhibitor, furosemide). In this study this does not happen in cardiopathic dog that take furosemide and/or ACE inhibitors. Other-wise the importance of a correct and personalised dosage of furosemide in dogs affected by cardiovascular disease is confirmed.
