Reported speech is a very complex textual sphere. Reported speech refers to other linguistic acts or other communicative situations and can convey their subject. The difference in the two communicative situations must be recognisable in at least one feature (not here -not me -not now ). The first part of the article describes the corpus, which was used to make the comparative analysis. The corpus consists of exams that were written by Italian students who study German. In this corpus all linguistic forms that make up reported speech have been examined. Using the root that I analysed, I have tried to define a typology of the various forms of reported speech represented in interlanguages. Distinctive features for this typology are syntactic, pragmatic, semantic and textual aspects of reported speech. The analysis of the forms of reported speech in interlanguages has shown that certain aspects of reported speech involving the textual characteristics have been ignored in linguistic writings and in grammar books of booth languages. This gap has a negative influence on the acquisition process of the language two. Interferences between Ll and L2 furthermore cause erroneous productions on the learner's part. With the presentation of the results of the contrastive analysis have been demonstrated these problems and I have suggested alternatives for the presentation of reported speech in the teaching of German as a foreign language, taking into consideration the contrasts and similarities of the two languages and the textual aspects of the reported speech.
