Sulla problematica attribuzione di alcuni oggetti al corredo funerario della tomba di Thutmosi III nella Valle dei Re (KV 34)

The aim of this paper is to show that some items, often mentioned in the Egyptological literature — including authoritative reference works — as more probably or surely belonging to the funerary equipment of Thutmose III, or simply considered as intrusive material from his tomb (KV 34), actually they do not. Nicholas Reeves in his Valley of the Kings: the decline of a royal necropolis had already questioned the attribution to the burial equipment of Thutmose III of some of the objects that are here examined and it has been possible to confirm most of his hypotheses. The documents preserved in the Egyptological Archives of the Università degli Studi di Milano, especially the excavation journal to the tomb of Thutmose III made by Victor Loret in 1898, constituted the most reliable source on which this research has been based.
