The paper offers a survey of the mathematical problems that Hilbert presented in his lecture at the Second International Congress of Mathematicians (Paris 1900) by emphasizing in particular the connection of some of them with his contemporary research on the foundations of geometry and the axiomatic approach to mathematical theories.
