The aim of this article is to examine the extent to which intersectionality has been addressed in different domains in Italy: the antidiscrimination leg- islation; the case-law; the implementation of non-discrimination principle by equality bodies and through policy strategies (e.g., national action plans); civil society; and scholarly literature explicitly addressing intersec- tionality. Although legal texts, case-law and the implementation of anti- discrimination measures don’t explicitly refer to intersectionality, the anal- ysis shows that the premises have been coming into being to apply law and policy “intersectionally”.

Abstract
The aim of this article is to examine the extent to which intersectionality has been addressed in different domains in Italy: the antidiscrimination leg- islation; the case-law; the implementation of non-discrimination principle by equality bodies and through policy strategies (e.g., national action plans); civil society; and scholarly literature explicitly addressing intersec- tionality. Although legal texts, case-law and the implementation of anti- discrimination measures don’t explicitly refer to intersectionality, the anal- ysis shows that the premises have been coming into being to apply law and policy “intersectionally”.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
