If public ethics evaluates the relationship between morality and politics in political conduct realism and moralism can represent two different ways to connect in a normative way morality and politics. In the realistic case normative principles are politically-grounded. In the moralistic case instead normative principles are moral in so far as political conduct is subjected to moral rules as any other conduct. The question is: according to this distinction a realistic political conduct should necessarily be judged as an amoral conduct?
