A comparative analysis of these data allows for some considerations on birth and demographic trends, as well as it confirms their potential for researching social relationships.
Nelle città dell’Italia centro-settentrionale, tra XIV e XV secolo, si diffonde la prassi della registrazione dei battesimi, con finalità religiose ma anche civili. L’analisi comparata dei dati consente considerazioni sull’andamento delle nascite e sui trends demografici, oltre a confermarne le potenzialità per ricerche sui rapporti sociali.
