After an introduction on the notion of bank secrecy, the author recalls the main regulatory initiatives adopted both at international and at Swiss level to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The relationship between Switzerland and the European Union are then analysed, taking into account double taxation agreements, the II packages bilateral agreements and the agreement on tax of savings incomes.
