My PhD -Thesis deals with the questions of semiotic and perception in Husserl's phenomenology. In the first chapter I examine the brief essay "Semiotik. Zur Logik des Zeichens" and the first "Logical Investigation" in order to obtain a phenomenological concept of sign: a sign is something which indicates something else. In the second chapter I analyse the sixth "Logical Investigation" and some related manuscripts in order to show that, in Husserl's analysis of perception, precisely this concept of sign, and precisely as an "indication" (Anzeige), plays a central role: the perceived is something that points toward something else. The role of semiotics in perception is reconstructed afterwars also for the constitution of space (Ding und Raum, chapter III), for the passive associations and synthesis, for time consciousness and for intersubjectivity. The role of semiotics in perception demonstrates once more that Husserl's analysis allow for overcoming the classical metaphysics of presence he is often accused of.
