The paper underlines the application of new approaches that, linking gene profiling and functional results with high-throughput data and predictive bioinformatics, allow the characterization of biomolecular pathways and putative disease-related genes. This strategy will be a useful tool to identify the genes involved in the pathogenesis of the still large amount of idiopathic forms of Kallmann's and other genetic diseases.

Abstract

The paper underlines the application of new approaches that, linking gene profiling and functional results with high-throughput data and predictive bioinformatics, allow the characterization of biomolecular pathways and putative disease-related genes. This strategy will be a useful tool to identify the genes involved in the pathogenesis of the still large amount of idiopathic forms of Kallmann's and other genetic diseases.
