The article reflects on a number of documentary films, of international relevance, all of them focused on the role of women in the process of representing, reflecting and resisting the multiple traumas involved in tragedies. All the analysed documents are contemporary and they refer to different national realities. The issue of memories and the process of mourning are filtered through the gaze of women and they report on the process of rebuilding the community while never forgetting the past.
