TOP s.r.l. is a spin-off of the University of Milan based at the Scientific Technology Park in Lodi. TOP s.r.l. is a world leading company specialized in the generation of vectors, cells and animals for research with optic imaging, PET (Positron Emission Tomography) and NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance). The multidisciplinary research team at TOP offers the most innovative approaches for molecular imaging applied to biological research, drug discovery, toxicological studies of environment and alimentary chain. Working with high quality standards, TOP has very qualified laboratories for cellular and animal technologies to carry out original R&D programs focused on the optimization of reporter systems in terms of flexibility and costs in their application. Through its privileged collaboration with the University of Milan TOP carries out its research with the most qualified European research Consortia such as European Molecular Imaging Lab (EMIL); Diagnostic Molecular Imaging (DiMI), ChemicAls aS ContaminAnts in the fooD chain: an NoE for research, risk assessment and education (CASCADE). By transferring to preclinical research the non-invasive modalities used for human diagnostics, TOP strives for an ethical use of animal models in full compliance with the 3Rs rule. With its alternative models, TOP intends to nullify animal suffering, Reduce animal use, Replace current in vivo methodologies and Refine biomedical research tools with the generation of more predictive models for the study of the molecular basis of human diseases and the effects of therapies.
