We discuss how prolongations of vector fields, and hence symmetries of differential equations, are affected by changes of the reference frame in the dependent variables space depending on independent variables. We devise a relation with the recently developed theory of μ-prolongations of vector fields and μ-symmetries of differential equations.

Abstract
