The essay considers compulsory baptism as a sacrament giving at one and the same time religious status and civil elementary rights, but excluding any other faith and confessional belonging but the one included in baptism itself; it is therefore a way of inclusion of faithfuls and exclusion of heretics hebrews infidels etc.; and the complex of compulsory confession and communion as the way of excluding from the community of the faithful those who are believed guilty of public or secret misconduct.
