The article dicusses some aspects of DOM (Differential Object Marking) in Eastern Armenian in order to undertand which parameters are active in the selection of the marked object. On the basis of the data considered it is possible to recognize the importance in Eastern Armenian DOM of the animacy together with the definiteness, only animated and referential objects imply the selection of the dative case, i.e. the marked case for the objects.
