The paper dwells on the origins and the history of two manuscripts now in the Ambrosiana Library: Ambr. M 85 sup. and Ambr. A 59 sup., both in the hand of Pietro Creticus and owned by Giorgio Merula. The A. identifies the hand of Gian Pietro da Lucca in the margins of Ambr. M 85 sup., a fact that strongly supports its alleged provenance from Vittorino da Feltre’s school. Another manuscript owned by Merula, Ambr. A 105 sup., is dated to the XVth century and is ascribed to Costantino Lascaris.
